October 07, 2012 - Delicious Pulled Pork

Now, this is going to be a first here. I'm going to use a little break after this little thing up here for the recipe. Mostly because it's fairly long and I plan on adding some notes of my own. These notes will be in italics and bulleted. The recipe is from the Company's Coming 5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Recipes book (Barbecued Pulled Pork page 103) and I recommend you buy the book if you need quick, cheap recipes for your own slow cooker.

I'm posting this one because, so far, it's my favourite one from the book and it will last you a while if you are only feeding yourself!

September 02, 2012 - What is love to you?

As usual, all of my writing is based on real life. Even my blogs are based on real life. This one... Well... I know I did a little thing before somewhere on love. This time, it's different. Very different. This time, it's about what love is to a person.

I start this with a question to you all. What is love to you?

Is it loving someone as a friend? A lover? The person you want to spend the rest of your life with? Or is it something more complicated?

A friend was recently told not to compare the love he felt to the love someone else felt. While it isn't fair to compare, this person was wrong about how he was feeling love. He is young, yes, but that doesn't diminish his feelings. What this friend of mine feels may not have been the same as what you felt or what I feel with my fiance, it doesn't mean the feelings aren't there.

What he feels is different. The love he feels is young and innocent. The love you feel is different. The love I feel is different. We all feel love differently.

You can't compare the love of one person to the love another. And this doesn't only apply to love. This applies to everything.

But for now... Back to the reason for this.

May 12, 2012 - It's Been A While

It really has been a while since I've written anything. I think I'm going to try and remedy that this weekend. When I say this weekend... my weekends are just... weird. Either way, I've discovered I need to relax more. Maybe trying to write more would help... Like, forcing myself to actually write. It will probably end up being crap, but it will be something.

If I can get myself into the habit of writing every day, maybe there will be some quality stuff after a while. One can always hope.

I'm also going to try and air some things out here on this blog. I can't make promises that it will be good stuff, but it will be thoughts without naming names. Names are for my 'diary' which has also gone unused. We shall see what happens, though. Good things or bad things could happen. It's all fluid and subjective.

April 13, 2012 - Luck

You know, 13 has always been my favourite number. People have always said it's unlucky. I don't believe them. I think luck is subjective, like pain. If you think something bad is going to happen and you stress over it, you are going have something bad happen. Alternatively, when you think nothing bad can happen, something bad will happen.

Luck is something no one can really control. But I think there are ways to try and augment it. Not will little meaningless charms. With things that actually have real meaning. If you get good luck charms and don't believe in the power they may or may not hold... They are useless. The person puts the power in the charm. You give yourself these chances.

Just remember that you make luck happen. Some magic charm isn't going to make it happen for you.

April 12, 2012 - Role Playing

It's been a long time since I've done a proper role play. Like, a LONG time. Last time was a brief thing that didn't last very long. I don't count that.

Maybe it was because I just wasn't into it. Maybe it was there was no one I wanted to role play with... But I think... I think I'm ready to Role Play again. I think it's finally time to get back into the swing of things!

I might need more time to get the hang of a role play setting again. The ones I used to do were different. Full text with speaking in quotations. But role playing like that is easy. You have the characters to do it. When you have a limited number of characters, it takes a certain amount of skill. You need to pick your words and actions carefully. It may not be flowery and full of detail, but you can put more behind it. It's a faster pace.

Maybe that's what I need in my life. Something more fast paced to get me going.
